Marlo Thomas-Calloway, SHRM-CP/PHR
President
Marlo has over 19 years of human resources experience in local city, state and federal governments. She currently works as Career Transition Trainer and has conducted Department of Labor training courses for over 8,500 transitioning military professionals. She continues her passion for human resource development as an Adjunct Professor with Tidewater Community College.
In addition, she has served as a board member for the local Hampton Roads Society of Human Resource Management and SEVA Association of Talent Development (formerly ASTD) for 10 years each. Marlo received her undergraduate degree in Human Resources from Strayer University and holds a Masters in Human Resource Management from Troy University. As the founder of Ms. MentorMe, The Career Coach, her passion is for helping others achieve their professional wealth through career development.
Marlo provides career coaching, training development and human resources services to individuals as well or corporations. Her goal is to help build strong-minded talented professionals that can actively contribute to their industry of choice.
Shari Carrithers

Shari is an experienced Training Manager with 14 years experienced and a demonstrated history of working in the financial services
industry. Skilled in Training & Development, Instructional Design, Management, Coaching, Team Building, and Mortgage Subservicing.
Strong professional with a Bachelors focused in Adult Education & Management from Old Dominion University. Shari leads and develops
corporate training programs. Manages a team of 10 (Training Specialists, Instructional Designers, and Training Coordinator) across two
sites. She serves as SharePoint Designer/Administrator and Director Administrator.
Nikki Walker
Executive Administrator
Nikki Walker is an accounting professional with 14+ years of experience and expertise in accounting and administrative functions. She offers a unique blend of leadership and vision to help people and organizations become successful. Nikki is passionate about providing an organized, prioritized, and intuitive approach while serving as Secretary to the SEVA ATD Board. She has an interest in the talent development field and looks forward to collaborating with her colleagues, as well as enhancing her knowledge of the talent management industry.
Nikki holds a B.A. in Business and Management from Virginia Wesleyan University and a MBA from Strayer University. She is an active member of International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI).
Kris Manwaren, SPHR-SHRM=SCP
VP of Talent Management
Kris has distinguished herself by successfully serving more than 20 years in various facets of Human Resources for public and private employers. Kris is a strong proponent for continual development of technical and professional competence. She has mentored young professionals on achieving certifications to enhance their career. Additionally, Kris has selflessly served on the Board of Directors to support Hampton Roads SHRM events.
She served as the Programs Director ensuring a variety of monthly program topics to engage members at various levels of expertise and education. All program topics were certified through HRCI allowing for continuing education credits. Her dependability and passion for the development of others enabled her to continue with this professional group in the capacity of President-Elect, President, and President Emeritus. Her superb organizational and leadership skills, experiences, and enthusiasm make Kris Manwaren an indispensable team member who is willing to reach beyond the expected to show others what is truly possible through collaboration.
Kris received a Master’s degree in Public Administration with an emphasis on Personnel Management from Troy University. She also maintains designations as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and another as Society of Human Resources Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).

Karen has over 25 years of experience in training and adult education. She has held positions as Counselor and Adjunct Instructor at Virginia Wesleyan University for 12 years and as Assistant Vice-President of Operations and Training for Liberty Tax Service for 9 years.
She is currently the owner of 2 businesses: Green Oak Consulting, which provides operations and training assistance to companies; and Learning Curve, LLC which provides general and specialized workshops, seminars and team building to organizations of all sizes.
Karen holds a B.S in Psychology and a M.S. Ed. In Counseling from Old Dominion University. She is also MBTI certified and hold certificates of Instructional Design and Consulting from ATD.
